World Travel Market hosted at ExCeL in London during the 2nd week of November
2011 is attended by almost 46,000 senior travel industry professionals, government ministers and
representatives of the international media.
WTM has the largest reoccurring Press Centre in the UK and the WTM Press Office use MediaFiler to manage and supply all their images from the show – and also throughout the year.
Five of probably the most talented travel trade photographers had been snapped up by WTM to capture the events, stands, press launches, awards, seminars, conferences and attending celebrities.
This year many of the Miss World finalists, including Miss Word attended, along with Crown Prince Felipe and Princess Letizia of Spain and Aussie soap star, singer and TV talent show judge Dannii Minogue to name but a few.
Journalists and stand exhibitors were viewing photographs on their phones and iPads that had only been taken a few moments previously by the WTM photographers, who were constantly feeding their images into MediaFiler for instant access throughout the world for use by travel and news publications.
“WTM make it so easy to have immediate access to outstanding free imagery of the show.” said Alastair McDavid, Managing Director of TDAL, who hosts MediaFiler for WTM.

The Digital Asset Lab stand at MediaPro 2011 with MediaFiler & Laidback Solutions &n bsp; - Main photo courtesy of Peter Denby's mobile phone!
The Digital Asset Lab is one of the few DAM solution providers - indeed exhibitors - to have exhibited at every single MediaPro event and this year we had four members of staff on hand to engage with the anticipated 8000 attendees.
New for 2011 the show had a dedicated Digital Asset Management area and a 'Marketing Technologies Lecture Theatre' with presentations on various media asset management topics together with contributions by some of the industry's big hitters such as Mark Davey of the DAM Foundation and Theresa Regli, Principal, The Real Story.
As always, MediaFiler was demonstrated live via the internet – as opposed to connected directly to a super computer on the stand - such is the confidence we have in this outstanding media library software.
Visitors to our stand browsed a test library in Holland containing over 2.5 Million files – images, video, audio and documents - to demonstrate the speed and features of MediaFiler and were then offered a selection of 'public' customer sites around the world, that were relevant to their media sector or interest.
“MediaPro is always a ‘benchmark show’ for us and MediaFiler” said TDAL Managing Director Alastair McDavid, “it’s almost like an annual stock take when we see how many new features – all customer driven – are now included in this show’s version. Each year we're leading the field, others follow.”
It’s always great when stand visitors say “Now that’s clever !” and that was the comment from more than one publishing professional after looking at FeedBack , the image content reporting software from the Swedish software house, Laidback Solutions.
Out of Laidback's four core products, Cargo and FileTrain and Colorman being the other three, Feedback attracted the most interest this year. However, FileTrain remains a best seller and fast becoming the preferred solution to a competitive product to ‘connect’ and manage image and file distribution.

However, apart from the pre-arranged meetings with Pär and Thomas, we were delighted with the constant stream of visitors who had specifically selected MediaFiler and Laidback as a ‘must visit’ stand at the exhibition, all due to our pre-show publicity and the publicity in the show magazines, as shown in the photo above,.
